After School Drop-In

Our After School Drop in program is for students, ages 6-18 years old, who are enrolled in school . This  program is ideal for completing homework, making friends & developing a strong work ethic.

Play, Grow, and Learn Safely

At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lynn, our goal is to provide all our city’s youth with the opportunity to play, grow, and learn safely. With the guidance of our trained staff, our after school programming is designed to develop critical skills and healthy habits through fun hands-on learning projects and activity focused clubs. Children and teens that consistently attend our after school programming are more likely to graduate from high school on time and demonstrate the skills they need to be ready for a post-secondary education and a 21st century career.

All new members 8 to 12 years of age are required to attend an orientation before they are able to attend the club. A Parent/Guardian must accompany children to the orientation so they both may become familiar with our programs and facilities.  You must call in advance to make an appointment for an orientation. The Club operates when school is in session. Any closings will be posted on the doors to the Club.

The Open Door After School Program costs $40 per school year, per child.*  Memberships must be renewed annually.

Inclement Weather

The Club may be closed or may close early for the safety of our staff and members due to inclement weather. If you are unsure, please call to confirm that the Club is open before dropping your child off.  If the Lynn Public School classes are cancelled, the Club will also be closed.

After school transportation is provided by the Lynn Public School Transportation Department from the following schools:  Aborn, Brickett, Callahan, Connery, Harrington, Hood, Ingalls, Lincoln-Thomson, Lynn Woods, Sewell-Anderson, Shoemaker, and Sission.  In order to transport your child to the Boys & Girls Club from the following list of elementary schools you must fill out an application at the Club; the Lynn School Department will then approve the request on a space-available basis.

Note: A new transportation application must be submitted each year prior to the beginning of the new school year.

Club Policies

Open Door Policy

The Boys & Girls Club operates as an "Open Door" program. Members are allowed to enter the building during regular Club hours. Once a member leaves the building, they may not re-enter. The Club is not responsible for members who leave the facility. Members will be allowed to use the phone only in emergency situations.

Health Policy

If your child is not well enough to attend school due to an illness or contagious symptoms, they must not attend the Club. It is expected that if a child becomes sick at the Club, the parent or guardian will make arrangements to have the child picked up.

Late Pick-Ups

Each family is given one 10-minute grace period for late pick-ups. On the second occurrence, there will be a charge of $10.00 per child. Children will not be admitted to the Club until the late fee is paid.

Phone Policies

The Club's phone is available for emergency calls only. If you need to contact a child, the Club staff will make an effort to convey a message to them. Members can only be paged and brought to the phone for emergencies.
